Default Emma's fairytale identity
Assuming that Emma also has an alternative fairytale identy what could it be? What do we know about her?

1. She was lost to her parents until 28 and doesn't know who she is.
2. She looks for people
3. She can come and go from storybrooke and is the only one who can.
4. She is not Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty(aka Belle), or Red Riding Hood.
5. Her middle initial is R.
6. She is immune to the curse because of the tree.
7. She doesn't really like relationships and is pretty Jaded to marriage.
8. we've already seen a reference to King Author Pendragon suggesting that the scope for fairytale selection is very broad.

I'm liking her for some sort of tragic heroine, someone like Brunhilde.

My theory is that she isn't from a fairy tale, or at least doesn't have an identity yet. She was only in the fairy tale realm as a child and therefore didn't really grow an identity -- except being the child of Snow White and Prince Charming.

Really. Maybe she just be herself and not have an identity of fairy tales because she did not grow there.

I think I know who Emma is, maybe shes princess Eliza from The Wild Swans, by Hans Christian Anderson. It would make sense with her name being Emma Swan, and the fact that she is fully good, which Eliza was as well, so good, that in the story the evil queen who cast a curse could not bewitch Eliza, and thus, had her banished from the kingdom. Emma finds people, as does Eliza, she finds her brothers and saves them from the swan curse cast by the evil queen. Elizas brothers eventually save her from being executed from a witchcraft charge. Emma is the savior of the town, as Eliza was the savior of her brothers, both from a powerful curse done by an evil queen.

i don't think Emma has a FT identity, after all she was born only moments before the curse was in acted. so she didn't have time to have a FT identity yet. if she had grown up in FT things would have been different.

I agree. I don't think she one either - although I love reading who everyone thinks she is!

This is actually something that I have been very curious about. I actually see it going either way, but I am more of the opinion that she does (or more accurately will) have a fairytale identity because she was born in fairytale land. Her "story" just hasn't happened yet. I can totally see the writers possibly using allusions to a fairytale for her, and then have the clues for it play out while she is in Storybrooke. We've already seen that the line drawn between fairytale land and the real world isn't as thick as one would think. She's also that catalysis that is causing things to change for the better. In a way I see her presence in Storybrooke slowly bridging the gap between the two worlds. Maybe her "fairytale story" is playing out right now, within the real world, and we just don't have enough information to go on to see who she is yet.

Maybe she's the Swan Princess because her name is Swan?

I don't think she has fairy tale character, but her name makes me think of the ugly duckling.

She's a character that's had a rough life and a childhood where she didn't belong or fit in anywhere and now that she's found her "flock" she gets to become the person she was born to be. (from ugly duckling to a swan)

Emma is Emma, she isn't anyone else. It's absolutely impossible for Emma to have a FTL counterpart.
